Scholarships

Back by popular demand.

Scholarships are intended for gay men who are currently coaches, or who want to move forward with their desire to become coaches. In light of this year’s theme ("Everyone’s A Coach: Bringing MORE Coaching to All Professions"), we are opening up the scholarship program to gay men who are currently using the coaching method in their working with other gay men.

Even if you are not a GCA member and have never previously been to a GCA conference, you ARE eligible for scholarship. Applicants apply either for both the one-day Pre-Conference Institute and main conference OR for the main conference only.

We do not cover travel expenses.

  • If you ARE a GCA current member and if want to make an application on behalf of a non-member, contact the non-member and let them know - they can apply.

  • That individual applicant will need to reference your name and email address on their application. But no additional work by you, as sponsor, is required – you also do not have to be in attendance (however that is recommended.)

  • If you ARE a non-member, you can make a blind application – however, blind applications will be reviewed more rigorously.

  • It is preferred that non-member applicants have some contact with a current member. Applicants may leave the sponsoring fields on the application form blank.

Scholarship applications are now being accepted for the 2019 conference. When your application has been reviewed and accepted you will be notified of your award by email. That award confirmation email will be followed up with a Registration email which will enable you to complete you Conference Registration.
Conference only applicants are expected to arrive on arrive at Easton Mountain by 5 PM on Thursday May 2nd.
Pre-conference institute applicants are expected to arrive at Easton Mountain by 5 PM on Wednesday May 1st.

A little more about you...

Agreements

We have only a limited number of scholarships.  If you are awarded as scholarship and if there is some change in your desire to come to the conference, will you pass on that information as soon as possible?

YES, should the recipient change his mind, I will inform the GCA promptly

Scholarship recipients are expected to provide a written testimonial within two weeks after the conference.

YES. I will provide a written testimonial within two weeks.

There will be a wait list for potential recipients. While we may award a limited number of individual scholarships on a "first-applied first-answered" basis, plans change.  The wait list is one way to allow later applicants the potentially benefit from the scholarship process.  Once all the scholarships have been awarded, the Website will be updated to receive wait list applicants only.

Many thanks.
