Intro to Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
Often, we can speak in ways – unconsciously or consciously – that actually perpetuate conflict, pain, and separation.
How connected are you with your own feelings moment-by-moment?
How aware are you of your own needs and those of others?
How can you create more meaningful and deep connections in your life?
These are some of the questions that will be explored and addressed in the workshop, “Introduction to Nonviolent Communication” with Noor Alexander at this year’s GCA.
NVC is a “language of life” that helps us to transform old and sometimes unconscious patterns of defensiveness, passivity, blame, or aggressiveness into compassion, connection, and understanding, and can help us shift from reacting to responding. Learning NVC, otherwise known as ""Compassionate Communication"", is really about reawakening our innate capacity to connect with ourselves and with others, so that we can get our own needs met and contribute to meeting the needs of others. In doing so, NVC helps us draw out our natural compassion, fostering empathy and interpersonal respect. This workshop is suitable for all who want to nurture their intrapersonal relationship as well as to create high quality, high value interpersonal relationships.
