Having strong close relationships — whether friendships, family relationships, or romantic relationships — is essential to building a happy and fulfilled life.
In this session, we'll:
- Explore what the research says about why strong close relationships are a necessity, not a luxury
- Consider the common reasons we don't invest enough time and energy in our close relationships, and reflect on how they might apply in our lives
- Explore how living as gay men can add extra layers to the loneliness and disconnection that is common in our community
- Explore the concept of social fitness — and assess how good we are at building and maintaining meaningful connections in our lives
- Reflect on our closest relationships and which we could nurture or invest in further to increase our happiness and well-being.
